Your Place in the Past

Over the years, more and more sources of information have been added to the internet and some of these make it easier to study what has happened on a plot of land. Complete runs of newspapers from the late 18th century to mid 20th century can now be read online; census records and other genealogical information are offered by several companies; tithe maps, air photographs and old photographs can be viewed online.

Some of this information is very fascinating to a homeowner or tenant - so I started providing histories of addresses. I do not undertake building recording although I may be able to recognise a blocked window or doorway. Instead, I specialise on uncovering the history of the site and the people who lived and worked there.
